It's been thirty years since the War of Unification ended, and the Stillwater Temple sunk below the waves. On that day, the winter had lost its icy fangs. The snow fell lighter, and the wind grew warmer.
The Whisper of Frost, the vestige of winter's power, had sunk along with the temple, cutting off its influence from the world.
The Whispers of the world, the places where nature's power gathers, are the cornerstone of civilization.
Whether it's the icy winds of winter, the scorching heat of summer, or the growth of new life, every force of nature draws from a Whisper.

The Whisper of Frost, like all Whispers, would lend the powers of nature to men.
Those men blessed with their powers, known as breath singers, could use the power residing within their breath to bend the forces of nature to their will.
Their Creator appointed the breath singers as guardians of nature, giving them great power in return for their service.
Yet the singers had all too willingly participated in the savage war, and allowed the world to fall into turmoil.
With the Whisper of Frost gone, and winter with it, natural disasters have become more common. Cultures and peoples have withered away; and the number of breath singers have dwindled.
Witness the Struggle Between Light and Dark
The War of Unification had succeeded at unifying the territories of Zephyr Continent; but it had broken them to do so.
The unifying forces of man had gained the land; but it was the forces of Darkness that had truly won the war.
The Creator, since The Beginning, saw the insubordination of the breath singers. In response, he sent Conductors among them throughout the ages.
The Conductors, those who can inherit the powers of every Whisper, were to succeed where the breath singers have failed. They would lead the charge against the forces of darkness in every age.
It has been ages, however, since a Conductor has been found.

Now, thirty years after the loss of yet another Whisper, a new Conductor may have appeared.
He arrives this time as an unsuspecting young villager who finds himself flung into a world of mysterious men and ancient relics.
He shall discover a power within himself that has not been seen for generations, and may very well save this world or further break it.
As the forces of darkness approach his doorstep, only time will tell which he shall choose.
